    Das neue Release verbessert laut Hersteller die Performance der ATI-Grafikkarten in vielen Situationen. Durch Verbesserungen in der Vertex-Verarbeitung soll es Leistungssteigerungen in Spielen wie Far Cry und 3DMark05 (X850-, X800- und X700-Serien) geben. Weitere Änderungen werden im Changelog gelistet.

    Catalyst 5.3 mit Control Panel

    Um das Control Center installieren zu können, muss das .NET Framework aus dem Hause Microsoft auf Ihrem Rechner installiert sein. Sollte dies noch nicht der Fall sein, bieten wir eine speziell angepasste Version an - WinFuture .NET Pack mit SP1 und Security Patch.

    ATI hat den Catalyst-Treiber in Version 5.4 Veröffentlicht. Dabei wurden zahlreiche Veränderungen vorgenommen und einige Probleme mit Spielen beseitigt. Die genauen Veränderungen können Sie dem Changelog entnehmen. Der Treiber ist mehrsprachig, darunter natürlich auch in Deutsch. Ausserdem wird mit dieser Final (nach einigen Betas) auch Windows XP 64bit unterstützt. Alle Veraenderungen koennt ihr in den Release Notes nachlesen.

    Wie jeden Monat hat ATI ihren neuen Catalyst Treiber veröffentlicht. eben diversen Verbesserungen im Zusammenspiel mit einigen Spielen wurde in dieser Version nach langem wieder an ältere Grafikkarten gedacht und weiter an deren Performance gearbeitet.

    ...und wieder mal ohne Berücksichtigung von Windooof 98Se, ganz zu schweigen von uns "veralteten" 9200er-Radionisten... Aber wer kann denn alle Jahre das System erneuern...?
    Das bedeutet - jedenfalls für mich und einige Kollegen, daß jetzt Schluß mit lustig irgendwann eben doch nur noch die Linux-Knoppix-Variante übrig bleibt... Trotzdem : Danke für die neue Treiber-Mitteilung.

    DNA-ATI 4.4.5.10
    Die aktuelle Version 4.4.5.10 für ATI-Grafikkarten basiert auf dem offiziellen Catalyst 5.10 Treiber und eine Reihe neuer Grafikkarten wird erstmals unterstützt. Unter anderem können jetzt auch die ersten neuen CrossFire-tauglichen Karten mit dem DNA-Treiberpaket kombiniert werden. Diese Version des DNA-ATI ist eine Mischung aus dem aktuellen Catalyst 5.10 und dem älteren 5.7. Diese Maßnahme wurde ergriffen um den TrueForm-Schieber beibehalten zu können.     Neben diversen Verbesserungen im Zusammenspiel mit einigen Spielen wurden in dieser Version vor allem einige Probleme bei der OpenGL-Unterstützung beseitigt, so dass Quake 4 nun besser laufen dürfte.

    Wie immer ist der Treiber mehrsprachig und unterstützt alle Grafikkarten ab der Radeon 9500 aufwärts. Details und die Release Notes muss man sich seit Neuestem leider umständlich über die ATI-Homepage erklicken.

    Die Overlay Theater Mode Enhancement ermöglicht es im Theater-Modus höhere Auflösungen zu nutzen, als auf dem Desktop verfügbar sind. Außerdem wurde dem Treiber der Avivo Video Converter hinzugefügt. Damit ist es mit nur wenigen Klicks möglich, ein Video in ein beliebiges anderes Format umzuwandeln. Unterstützt werden u.a. MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4/DivX, WMA und H.264/AVC. Eine Anleitung zur Nutzung des Konverters findet man hier.

    ATI Catalyst 6.4

    Mit Version 6.4 wird die Videowiedergabe der Avivi Video Engine verbessert. Außerdem wurde ein Tool integriert, welches das Umwandeln von Videos ermöglicht, die mit der Windows XP Media Center Edition aufgenommen wurden.

    Die Konvertierung ist in die Formate MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP, MPEG-4 AVC und Windows Media möglich. Als seperate Option steht die Umwandlung in das Videoformat für den **** und die Playstation Portable (PSP) zur Verfügung.

    Wie immer wurden diverse Performance-Verbesserungen bei Benchmarks und Spielen vorgenommen, die aber nur aktuelle Modelle betreffen. Außerdem wurden zahlreiche Bugs im Zusammenhang mit der Grafikdarstellung in Spielen beseitigt.

    Die genauen Release Notes muss man sich seit neustem leider auf der ATI seite selbst suchen, da keine links mehr möglich sind.
